Park City, Utah - Hiking

Last weekend Brandon invited Rob and me to his family's timeshare in Park City. I took Friday off from work and we headed up on Thursday night. After a brief swim in the pool and several beers (my dinner), we called it a night. Being the early riser that I am we all awoke before the rest of Park City and walked along Main Street. We pretty much had the whole street to ourselves and found a cute little cafe for breakfast. A quick hike around the ski areas to look at the wildflowers and then back to the pool and hottub for the rest of the day and evening. Most relaxing day ever. Thank you Brandon!

Red Butte Gardens, Utah - Sightseeing

Spring has sprung in Utah .. so no more excuses from Jake about it being too cold to hike. Jake, John and I decided to do a quick early season hike near the University of Utah today. After parking on lower campus we walked up through student housing and into the lower part of Red Butte Canyon. From there, a steep (but short and sweet) trail led up to the summit of Red Butte. It was a bit windy and cold, but overall a perfect early Spring day. The real treat of the day was a visit to Red Butte Gardens - one of my favorite spots in the valley.
