Guardsman Pass, Utah - Snowshoeing

A new year is an opportunity for new adventures. Instead of the usual snowshoe hikes like Red Pine Lake or Neff's Canyon, I decided to check out a new location my coworker suggested. Instead of the usual snowshoeing partners, I was joined by a new one today - Brandon! He has some new MSR snowshoes that he wanted to try out and I was anxious to get outside and enjoy the clear blue skies and sunshine (no more gross inversion!). We headed up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Guardsman Pass next door to Brighton Ski resort. We spent several hours enjoying the fresh powder, mild temperatures, and incredible views of the Wasatch. We treated ourselves to some delicious beer (and a little food) at Porcupine Pub and Grill at the mouth of the canyon. Beer is a million times better when you earn it!
